How to Clear Data for One Website in Chrome
Clear cookies and stored data for one website in Chrome without signing out of every other site or wiping your whole browsing history.
When one website is broken, clearing data for every site is usually unnecessary. Chrome lets you remove stored data for a specific domain, which can preserve sessions and preferences elsewhere.
Use Chrome settings
Google’s current Chrome Help instructions use this path on desktop:
- Open Chrome’s Settings.
- Select Privacy and security.
- Open Third-party cookies.
- Select See all site data and permissions.
- Search for the website name.
- Select Delete beside the matching site and confirm.
Chrome’s labels can change between releases or managed environments. If the wording differs, search Settings for “site data.” Google documents the current process in Delete, allow, and manage cookies in Chrome.
Understand what will be removed
Site-specific clearing may remove cookies, local storage, and other data that the domain stored in your browser. You may be signed out, lose a local preference, dismiss a saved cart, or need to accept a consent prompt again.
It does not delete your account from the service, cancel a subscription, or remove information held on the website’s servers.
Check the domain before confirming
Look at the address bar. A service may use several related domains for login, payment, or embedded content. Resetting the visible site may not affect a separate authentication domain—and clearing a broad parent domain may affect more than expected.
Reload and test one action
After clearing, reload the page and repeat the smallest action that was failing. If the problem remains, try a private window, disable an extension temporarily, or check whether the service reports an outage. Avoid repeatedly deleting data when the cause is a server or network problem.
For a shorter workflow, ResetSite clears saved data for the website in the active tab and reloads it in one action. Other websites remain untouched, but the same sign-out and preference-loss cautions apply to the site you reset.
